Everyday Heroes

Every Saturday, I want to feature posts from people like YOU about normal, everyday people that make a lasting difference in this world. If you would like to write something for the Everyday Heroes series, leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail and I'll let you know what to do! And you don't need to be a blogger or a writer of any kind! You just need to have a hero that you want people to know about!

Today, I want to tell you about a hero that may seem a little odd.

This hero is small in stature, doesn't speak well, and can't really stand on his own two feet.

This hero can't take care of himself, let alone someone else.

Heck, this hero even pees his pants from time to time.

I know you're dying to know. Who on earth could be worthy of writing about that can't even control his own bladder?

The Everyday Hero that I'm writing about this week is...

We all know people that seem to go above and beyond their calling in life. Doctors that not only help cure, but help restore souls. Teachers that not only teach curriculum, but share life with their students. Neighbors who not only greet you with a smile, but look after you when you need a helping hand.

These people shine in a way that encourages every person around them. They make you feel as if their only calling in life is to make your life better. It's these people that are truly Everyday Heroes.

That is why I want to write to you today about a person who I believe does this. She encourages everyone around her. She shines brighter than the sun. She's one of the greatest people I know - though I might be a little biased.

She's my wife.

This is the part where you say, "Aww."

Everyday Heroes... Sort of.

Today, I get to watch my mom and father-in-law graduate from the Master's program I hope to be in a year from now. I'm stoked.

I'm feeling rebellious today.

Not the "I want to steal a car" kind of rebellious, though.

More like the "I want to rip the tag off of a mattress" kind of rebellious.

I know, I know. Living on the edge. It's what I do best.

Seriously, though, I feel like breaking a rule or two today. And what better way to do it than through a blog post?

You see, there are certain unwritten rules when it comes to blogging. At least that's the feeling that I've gotten as I've read through dozens of blogs and written dozens of blog posts. There are just some things you don't do...

Who's Your Hero?

Last night, I found out that one of my grandmas is trying to figure out how to read my blog, so this is me giving a shout out to my Meme, because if she's reading this, then she figured it out! Or at least found someone to figure it out for her...

I noticed something recently. Maybe you have, too. Hear me out and see what you think.

Over the last ten years or so, there has been a ridiculous influx of superhero-laden movies. This isn't completely unusual, because Hollywood has always loved a good story. And what's better than a story that we all wish was true about someone who doesn't exist? Superhero movies have always been around, though, and have always been popular. However, they have not always been good.

That seems to have changed as of late.

Thank goodness.
