More Shameless Plugging

So it's Sunday morning, and I'm awake before the sun rises. This is old news to most anyone who has read this blog at some point or another. Unless I take sleeping pills, I just don't sleep.

However, today is different.

Today, I have strict instructions on what I am to do once I'm awake - which I guess is now. And if I remember correctly, those instructions had nothing to do with blogging and everything to do with cleaning and packing so that we can move for our internships.

Oops.

Everyday Heroes

Every Saturday, I want to feature posts from people like YOU about normal, everyday people that make a lasting difference in this world. If you would like to write something for the Everyday Heroes series, leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail and I'll let you know what to do! And you don't need to be a blogger or a writer of any kind! You just need to have a hero that you want people to know about!

We all know people that seem to go above and beyond their calling in life. Doctors that not only help cure, but help restore souls. Teachers that not only teach curriculum, but share life with their students. Neighbors who not only greet you with a smile, but look after you when you need a helping hand.

These people shine in a way that encourages every person around them. They make you feel as if their only calling in life is to make your life better. It's these people that are truly Everyday Heroes.

That is why I want to write to you today about a person who I believe does this. She encourages everyone around her. She shines brighter than the sun. She's one of the greatest people I know - though I might be a little biased.

She's my wife.

This is the part where you say, "Aww."

One of Those Days

I sit and stare out this same window every day, and I wonder what it would look like without a screen behind it or blinds in front of it...

Okay, here's the deal.

Blogger was broken for the larger part of yesterday. Suck.

I woke up 2 hours later than I usually do today. Sort of suck.

I weighed myself. I lost 2 pounds. This is not okay. Double suck.

My lungs are currently on a mission to murder me. Super suck.

Therefore, I don't have a lot for you today. Nothing awe-inspiring or entertaining. No witty one-liners to help you bust a gut.

Instead, I just want to leave you with this thought:

God is good, even when "good things" aren't happening. He'll take care of you if you just let him.

And I'm working on letting him right now.

How do you keep your faith strong when things aren't going well? What do you use to give yourself a pick-me-up when you're down? Let me hear about it (or anything else that's on your mind!) in a comment, an e-mail (awaller1990@gmail.com), or on the Life Before the Bucket Facebook page!

The End of a Dream... For Now

I've been up for almost an hour and a half and only consumed one cup of coffee. This is clearly a problem.

Last night was a sad night in my life. Very, very sad. Not quite weeping sad, but sad, nonetheless. But what is there to be sad about when school is out, you ask? The answer is quite simple, in my mind.

The Celtics.

It makes me tear up on the inside just thinking about them.

Okay, so I jest.

Make Money, Money

This post title may indicate that I'm into Bone Thugs N Harmony. Let me assure you now that I'm not.

If there's one thing we're all sick of hearing about, it's money. "In this economy..." isn't just a catchphrase anymore; it's an excuse more common than "My dog ate my homework," mostly because we can't afford to have a dog anymore.

Maybe the new excuse should be, "The economy ate my homework."

Maybe not. It was worth a shot.

Either way, we're all looking to make some money, and it seems like none of us ever have enough of it. Either we're in debt from student loans, credit card payments, car payments, or we're stuck working a 9-5 job paying minimum wage at McDonald's. Money is something none of us really like, but all of us want (and need if we're going to live).

The funny thing about money is that there's about a million ways to make it. You can mow lawns, paint houses, do paperwork, serve food, be a personal trainer, or just about anything else you can think of and make money from it. Money isn't as difficult to come by as some people make it out to be. This is why I want to present you with a way to make a little extra cash today.

For real.
