Question: What Time is it There?

Sunday is Easter, in case you missed it. Just a friendly heads up!

When we last left off in this Spring Break extravaganza, we were still in Indiana. Well, folks, I am here to tell you that we are finally getting out of there! I mean, not that I don't love it. There's just only so much time you can spend in a state that doesn't cheer for the Chiefs.

After having a great time with the Fowlers (their hospitality and love toward us was unbelievable), we set off on the next leg of our adventure. Our first stop would be in Morganfield, Kentucky to meet up with the Yaugers, another family from THOGL who we met while we were over there this past summer. We decided to meet up at a barbecue restaurant in Morganfield, which I was thrilled about - even if it wasn't KC barbecue...

Ridiculous, right?
After a few episodes of narcolepsy on my part, a quick stop in Ohio (just so I could say I've been there) and some great driving and navigating by Kelsey and Kalyn, we made it to Morganfield, safe and sound. At this point, the weather had begun to take a turn for the worst. I probably should have mentioned the freak hail storm that decided to greet us while we were at the Fowlers. I guess I'll start taking the weatherman seriously now when he says that the ominous looking clouds hanging over my head are "capable of producing (insert favorite sports ball) size hail."

Like I said, though, we survived. And thank goodness, because getting to hang out with the Yaugers was a blast. Their daughter, Madelyn, had changed so much that I barely recognized her. Meanwhile, her older brother, Mason (also adopted from THOGL), was a hoot, and once he warmed up to us, he was not even close to what you would call shy.

Isn't she precious?
We had a fantastic time getting to see the Yaugers again and we spent entirely too long "eating" at this restaurant while we played and talked, catching up on life and getting to know each other better. We can't even begin to express how grateful we are to them for meeting up with us and continuing to share their daughter's life with us.

Sadly, though, we had to say goodbye. Time wasn't stopping for us (as we had politely asked it to do many times on this trip), and we had another family to see before the night was over! So we said our goodbyes and left, heading for our next stop: the Crowdus house!

This was by far the most confusing part of our drive. First of all, we ended up back in Indiana for most of the ride, which was just weird. We just couldn't leave the place!

Secondly, the time change was weirding us out. We assumed that, because the Crowduses lived in Kentucky, they were an hour ahead of us. We definitely assumed wrong. And for our ignorance, we paid a price. Our phones proceeded to change time on us approximately 1,452 times. It was a terrible, terrible joke that was being played on us. At one point, my phone was even telling me it was an hour ahead of Kalyn's phone! Darn you, Verizon.

Despite the overabundance of Indiana and the underwhelming amount of knowledge we had about time zones, we eventually made it to the Crowdus house. However, we did have to call them to figure out what time it was, which was an ordeal in and of itself.

First of all, Kalyn dialed a wrong number the first time. Apparently some lady answered that could have been straight out of the Crypt Keeper (anyone remember that show?).

To boot, we just couldn't figure out the whole time zone thing, so when we finally did get a hold of Julie, our first question was this: what time is it there? I'm sure we sounded a bit ridiculous, and at this point, I'm pretty sure we were a bit delirious from the absurd amount of miles we had driven. Thankfully, though, we got there safe and sound, even if we weren't sure what time it was.

By the time we arrived, it was basically suppertime, and it was very close to Cooper's bedtime. However, that didn't stop us from getting some quality playtime in, as usual. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner, though, and relaxed for the rest of the night, enjoying the company of our new friends.

Gotta love that smile!
The next day, we woke up and did some more relaxing. Trust me, we needed it and appreciated it more than we could express at the time. And of course, we played with Cooper some more.

All in all, we had a great, great, great time with the Yaugers and the Crowduses and we hope we get to see them again soon! And hopefully we'll at least know what time it is when we meet up again...

I would just like to point out that Madelyn is wearing a penguin shirt, and I smiled like crazy when I realized this. :)

Just saying. When going from Central to Pacific you'll go two hours behind. (: So it's 10:05 AM here. It is 8:05 AM there
